Second four 16.9 cm x 12.7 cm layouts
here i fould it heard to come up with how my designs could sit, this stage was a bit slow. i chose to display the V&A in an illustration and use that around my poster. on my third idea i chose to have the design flowing along the page creating a colorful pattern.
On my second poster i chose to use my experimentation but in a different illustration, this will create a link between the two posters and will make my designs flow.
first four 16.9 cm x 12.7 cm layouts
From my illustrations two was chosen to be worked on further, this is my first choice.
i chose the zipper because i think is i gives out many ideas on what you can do with it, also the zip could flow along the tube creating an interesting design.
my first idea was to have signs coming out of the zipper and having the text rotated at the same angle as the zipper. Using bright colours for the teeth of the zipper to fit in the colours found on 80's clothing and to Keith Haring's designs . I thought they did not look nice or professional having text flying around.
my second and third idea i felt their was too much white space, although i liked how their was white space, this lead to my final layout design shown below, i choose to use Jasper Goodal'sl style my by using my experimentation but changing the cloours to fit in with the 80's feel and the colours found in Keith Haring's designs.

Advertising in the London underground
I took a poster you would find in the London Underground a further analysed it tot understand the layout and why things are set the way they are.
the poster was interesting because it was for the London 2012 games, a number of people used the London underground to get the the stadium so it was clever to put the poster in the underground and other train stations. The poster also had the London Underground logo and the 2012 logo including information about games and travel, so i thought this related well to the poster i had to design.

Illustrations
These are my illustrations 24 in total.
this are my first 12 showing some ideas, some is style of the artists i research, for example Jasper Goodall and Yiying Lu. from this i chose two to take into a more detailed layout.
These more Illustration but they are a little bit more detailed as they show where text and explain how the color would go. i chose of the illustrations for the top just so i would get a better understanding of what i would do with them.

As one of our out comes will be 48 sheet it will be to big to for snap frames and so i had to scale t down onto center meters (cm) this was done on layout
to calculate the right size first i had to make it fit onto my layout so i chose to divide the sizes my 12. This gave me;
Height 254 mm and Length 338 mm. i converted this into cm my moving the decimal one place to the left this gave me;
Height 25.4 cm and Length 33.8 cm.

Jasper Goodall
Jasper Goodall
this work is called Swamp terma, i like the smoke blend in with the triangle in the middle and how the opacity is low on the trees, it gives this fog effect. the picture mood on this painting is monotone as the brown come in.
Experimentation - I used illustrator to create these images in the style of Jasper goodall. Changing the opacity and using different shapes i marge the V&A logo and smoke to create this illustration. i played around with some colours and and colour of the smoke too, i like the outcomes and will see how they input towards my final poster.

Club to Catwalk
On a trip to
see the fashion exhibition, I was a wide range of designers working with the
80’s era. The 80’s fashion began to grow, with colours and textures and sound.
The catwalk was introduced as a disco based event, with heavy funky music, I
noticed this as soon as you walk into the exhibition, the music really moves
the mood and the people, I also think the music is like club music it’s bouncy
and fun, its fits in the colours you will find on the designs.
Chrissie
Walsh uses flat block colours on her jackets making it bold and eye catching,
in the 80’s I think it was moving away from black and white or dull greys and
being see, with colours and loud styles. To me it looks like the 80 era was
fun. Having different designers in sections of the exhibition really showed off
the colours and how it add to the ambiance of the place, for example one
designer could use blue card to display information and another uses orange,
these colours attract each other and make you want to go from one straight to
another. This brought out a feel of fighting for hierarchy.
The display
of the designs are begin to attract my attention as I go up stair the fonts
used was quirky and in bold designs. I saw a display of punk denim jackets and
shirts. The shirts had sliver spikes, to me that hold danger and the mood
changes as the text was in red and black, this went well with the mood of
danger.
On the
knitwear display very sharp colours where used to show off the clothing, the
body copy is playful and in bold text green text, this complements the red
tones on the jumpers and shirts on the display.
